Overview

One Stop Nanyuki has a slogan: shopping, eating, accommodation. This beautiful garden is located 10 km from Nanyuki Town opposite the airstrip and is quite literally a one-stop spot for everything the discerning traveler needs. One Stop Nanyuki also offers splendid views of Mt. Kenya to complement the beautiful garden the complex is set on. The facility has a unique way of blending nature with a home-like feeling making it an ideal getaway for a relaxing weekend or a base from which to explore the greater Mt. Kenya region.

Accommodation

One Stop Nanyuki has a couple of accommodation options to choose from. Firstly, there are four shepherd huts namely Bramble, Holly, Ivy, and Oak. The design of the huts borrows from the UK Somerset shepherd’s hut style making them quite unique in this region. Each hut comes with a deck from which guests can enjoy views of Mt. Kenya and the surrounding terrain. The bathrooms are outside in order to create more space in the intimate huts. One, two, or three guests can comfortably stay in any one of the tents. A fully-equipped safari tent with electricity can also be rented to supplement any of the accommodation options. The tents come with a fridge, a microwave, a toaster, and a kettle. As cooking equipment is limited, One Stop Nanyuki suggests cold meats, cheese, and wine. All the same, there are restaurants and cafes within the complex.

The second accommodation option comes in the form of the descriptively named 100 Year Old House. This three-bedroom house was first built in 1912 in Hurlingham, Nairobi. However, to pave way for the construction of a skyscraper, the house had to be demolished. To save it, One Stop Nanyuki moved the house piece by piece to Nanyuki and rebuilt it. The 100 Year Old House has a kitchen, a verandah, and a living room with a fireplace. Compared to the huts, the main house’s kitchen is better-equipped meaning that guests can conveniently prepare their own meals. In addition to the equipment in the huts, the main house also has a gas burner/oven.

One of the rooms is a double ensuite while the other two rooms hare a bathroom.

Amenities

There is a swimming pool at One Stop Nanyuki which is accessible to guests staying at the facility on a complimentary basis. Worth noting is that there is no lifeguard at the swimming pool. One can have drinks or meals delivered at the pool.

Barbecue grills are available and are ideal for cooking and roasting outside while stargazing under the starry African night sky.

Other amenities in the complex include Frontier’s Coffee Bar which is an ideal spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as well as birthday cakes and small private functions. Nanmatt Farm Shop is a supermarket for essentials shopping. A unisex hair salon is also available on site. There are great facilities in the neighborhood for a varied experience such as Soame’s Hotel & Jack’s Bar. Wi-Fi is available in the huts and the house. One Stop Nanyuki is dog-friendly.
