Overview
Ol Tukai Lodge is located within Amboseli National Park. The lodge claims to be one of the best spots in the world to watch herds of elephants. This upmarket lodge has a splendid vista of Mt. Kilimanjaro which serves as the backdrop to the elephant-watching.
Accommodation
Ol Tukai Lodge has 80 luxurious chalet-style rooms. Each room offers either a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro or the neighboring wetlands. The rooms are tastefully furnished and finished with the decor drawing inspiration from African culture. As expected, the rooms have a bathroom ensuite. In addition, the rooms also come with private terraces.
Dining and Other Amenities
One can dine on the verandah where animals such as elephants, zebras, and buffalos are easily spotted just beyond the fence. The restaurant serves both an a la carte menu or a buffet. Special dietary needs such as vegetarian or Indian dishes are easily catered for. Ol Tukai Lodge usually has themed nights for its dining experiences such as Swahili fish nights or barbecue. Additionally, champagne breakfasts and bush dinners can be arranged to furth diversify the dining experience.
The Elephant Bar is an open-air bar where all sorts of drinks are served. Above the bar is a level deck that offers uninhibited views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the surrounding marshlands.
There is a free-form swimming pool that is shaded by acacia trees and lined with sunbeds for one to relax in. For further relaxation, aromatic massages are offered by the resident masseuse staff. Alternatively, one can partake in sundowner cocktails to mark the end of an adventurous day.
Wi-Fi is also available. Finally, for souvenirs, one can find an assortment of African artifacts at the Gift Shop.
Activities
Game drives through Amboseli National Park are the main activity at Ol Tukai Lodge. Maasai dances are usually held in the evening to entertain guests. There are also lectures on elephant research and the Maasai culture held at the lodge for anyone looking to enrich oneself with this kind of knowledge. Bird walks are also available and for corporate clients, conferences can also be organized.
