Overview

Lake Manyara National Park nestles at the base of the Great Rift Valley. It is about 130 Km from Arusha town.

The National Park is characterized by acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands, a forested area, flood plains and the rocky escarpment of the Rift Valey.

It is considered as one of the oldest and most popular sanctuaries in East Africa. Apart from being a wildlife viewing destination, Lake Manyara National Park also offers great views of the rift valley escarpment.

About two thirds of the park is covered by water which makes it a major attraction. Other major attractions include the climbing lions and also the elephants.

Accommodation

Accommodations are available inside and outside Lake Manyara National Park. They consist of luxury accommodations, midreange and also budget accommodations.

Luxury accommodations include Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, Lake Manyara Sopa Lodge, Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge and many more.

The midrange include Lake Manyara tortilis camp, Twiga Lodge, Kirurumu tented lodge and also Migunga tented lodge.

Budget accommodations include Nsya lodge, Jambo rooms, Eco boma camp and many others.

Dining and Other Amenities

Lake Manyara National Park hosts the Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.

The tree lodge is made up of an open kitches, dining area, boma, gallery and 10 stilted tree house suites.

Meals can be taken infront of the kitchen, outside or at the boma. Food served is Pan-African and the service which includes a personal butler is top drawer.

Activities

The National Park offers a wide range of activities which include game drives, birding, guided bush walks, boating safaris and many more.
