Ashnil Aruba is located in the heart of the flat savannah grassland of Tsavo East National Park. The camp is a couple of hours from Mombasa and a five-hour drive from Nairobi. It is primely located on the shores of the Aruba Dam which was built back in 1952 for sport fishing recreation.


Ashnil Aruba has 46 rooms and 6 tents categorized as Deluxe Twin, Deluxe Double, and Deluxe Twin. The accommodation options feature king or queen-sized beds, hot water, showers, hairdryers, terraces, and sunbeds.

Dining and Other Amenities

The main building hosts the open-sitting restaurant that can seat up to 150 people. It has a shaded wooden deck than offers more seating space. Aruba dam is clearly visible from all angles of the restaurant, therefore, offering a scenic view to go with meals served at the lodge. Cuisines are served in set buffets and feature continental, oriental or traditional African dishes.

Ashnil Aruba has a lounge bar with a capacity of about 60 people. It is located in the main building but away from the dining area and features an African-themed decor. One can order liqueurs, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, spirits, and local and international beers.

The lodge also features a swimming pool that overlooks the game park.

Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo

Pick up from Nairobi and our drive takes us to Tsavo National Park. The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi-desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills, and rock outcrops. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal species and birdlife. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow, and Ash cones, which is an example of a recent volcanic eruption. The Movie Ghost and the Darkness was shot here. Overnight at your lodge/camp

Day 2: Tsavo

Explore Tsavo National Park Two game drives are scheduled for this day. The extensive diverse habitats offer an ideal area to search for pride in Lions, Buffaloes, Cheetahs, Giraffe, Zebras, Hippos, and wildebeests. Mzima Spring, underground water seepage from Chyulu hills is a good place to watch the Hippos. There is also a wealth and diversity of birds’ species. All meals and overnight at your lodge/camp

Day 3: Tsavo- Nairobi

An early morning ‘Spice’ game drive permits further exploration of this great Park. The Park has a large number of birds estimated to be over 500 species. After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving early afternoon.
